Ed Sheeran – ‘Shivers’ [New Single]

Ed Sheeran new single

On October 29, Ed Sheeran will release his long-awaited fourth studio album, titled ‘=’ (Equals). This album will arrive two years after his previous release ‘Noº6 Collaborations Project‘, an album of duets that came marked by the singer’s subsequent decision to take a couple of sabbaticals to disconnect from music and enjoy his family.

Following the line of his previous albums (‘+’, ‘x’ and ‘÷’), the British artist has once again resorted to a mathematical sign to give the title to his new record. It is a collection of 14 songs that reflect Sheeran’s experiences over the past few years. “I started writing and recording this album in June 2017. It’s been a long, long process. It’s been through love, loss, new life, grief, and everything else during the whole period of writing it,” the singer comments.

While he continues to triumph in the international charts with the single ‘Bad Habits‘, the artist has now premiered another of the songs that will be part of his next album. It is ‘Shivers‘, a pop mid-tempo that comes with an exceptional music video directed by Dave Meyers.

This is how the artist describes this new track: “I wrote this as soon as the Divide tour ended in a rented farm in Suffolk where we had set up a studio for a couple of weeks to see what happened. It was written over the course of 3 days, which is very different for me, but I felt it was too special to get wrong. It was originally meant to be the first single, but I just didn’t see a world where Bad Habits existed if it didn’t come out in the summer. Shivers always felt more autumnal. I hope you like it, I bloody love it.”
