Kylie Minogue will headline the Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment at the Toyota AFL Grand Final 2026 — the showpiece of the Australian rules football league and the country’s equivalent of the US Super Bowl. The event takes place on 26 September at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), in front of around 100,000 spectators in the stadium and millions more watching on television.
It will be the first time the singer has taken part in the event, and the first time since 2021 that an Australian artist has topped the bill. The performance is being framed as a homecoming, given that Kylie was born in Melbourne — adding an emotional dimension to her appearance at one of the country’s most important sporting occasions.
The singer will deliver a 20-minute show featuring dancers, staging and visual effects designed specifically for the MCG, produced in partnership with Mushroom Group. AFL Chief Executive Andrew Dillon has described it as the biggest pre-game entertainment spectacular ever staged at the event.
Ahead of the match, Yarra Park will host a “Footy Festival” and a “Kylie Village” with official merchandise, running from 23 September.
