From last Friday, 25th September, ‘The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore‘ is available — the deluxe edition of Taylor Swift‘s latest album. The re-release adds four brand-new tracks to the twelve from the original record: ‘Patient Zero‘, ‘Cleveland!‘, ‘Pink Clouding‘ and ‘Babylon‘.
It arrives almost a year after the release of ‘The Life of a Showgirl‘, which came out on 3rd October 2025. That album debuted with 4.002 million equivalent units in the US, and spent 12 weeks at number one on the Billboard 200. In the months that followed, Swift kept sales momentum going with a steady stream of limited physical editions, several of them on vinyl and some exclusive to the UK.
The singer took to Instagram to explain the origins of the new songs: “About a year ago, you did something truly unimaginable. Something that left me completely speechless… You gave ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ the biggest first week in album history. I took a trip to Sweden to celebrate with Max and Shellback, my two collaborators on this record. We really just wanted to reflect and soak in how grateful we were for the moment we were living in, but there was a studio there and we did what we always do when we feel anything: we wrote more songs. I hope you love them, because they were born out of the purest gratitude for your enthusiasm and the way you’ve embraced this album we made.”

No physical edition of the deluxe album has been announced as yet. However, three collector’s CD singles of ‘Patient Zero‘ did go on sale for one day only, featuring acoustic and piano versions of the track.
The music video for ‘Patient Zero‘ will premiere this Sunday, 27th September, during the MTV Video Music Awards. Directed by Taylor Swift herself, it stars Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, with cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki. Last Thursday, Swift shared a 13-second teaser on ‘CBS Mornings‘, featuring glimpses of a graveyard, underwater scenes and a black rose. That same evening, the artist will receive MTV’s inaugural Artist Director Honor. She is also in the running for Video of the Year for ‘The Fate of Ophelia‘, Artist of the Year, and Best Direction for ‘Opalite‘.
