Alicia Keys wanted to join the long list of artists who are releasing new music these weeks in support of all those who are fighting against the COVID-19.
The American singer has released the song ‘Good Job’, a song composed last year with her husband, producer Swizz Beatz. The song was originally written to pay tribute to the unsung heroes who were part of Keys’ life, such as her own mother – who as a single mother struggled to raise her children in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood – and many others she often saw ignored. In the wake of the current global pandemic, Alicia realized that her message coincided with the moment we are living.
“Whether you’re on the front lines of hospitals, combining work, family and home schooling; delivering mail, packages or food; or facing other personal difficulties because of COVID-19, I’m with you. People see you, love you, and deeply appreciate you,” Keys said.
The song will be used for CNN’s new ‘Heroes‘ campaign, which honors ordinary people who have become heroes during the COVID-19 crisis.
